About the Owner

Believe it or not - this site is run by ONE person. Not kidding. If I had a whole team then the site would probably be updated more often, lol, but it's just me . . . for now anyway. I wouldn't mind getting a few graphic designers - especially for Manips and Wallpapers. But, anyway, here are a few things about me:

Fact1: I've been web-designing since my senior year of high school.
Fact2: I used to really be into anime, Sailor Moon (Serena/Darien fan) and Gundam Wing (yaoi) being my favorite, but that soon changed to Harry Potter, CSI and Grey's Anatomy - all slash of course.
Fact3: I use Gimp to do all my graphics and I'm hoping that for my birthday I get photoshop just because it's the best.
Fact4: I do some writing just in case you haven't read my Harry/Cedric stories found on the two seekers LJ community and on the BSA.
Fact5: Harry/Cedric is my absolute favorite pairing to write. Just in case you were wondering.

About the Site

Bittersweet Symphony opened its doors April 18, 2006. I had been thinking about opening a fansite for months, but I just couldn't decide which couple would be included in the site's content. To avoid the headaches, I didn't open the conventional fansite - those huge networks where people can access book information, forums, theories and basically everything you can imagine - because there were way too many of them as it was and I had no desire to add to the pile. There was also the issue of time and I was just getting ready to graduate college and I knew my time would be limited. So, that option went right out the window.

Eventually, I decided to do a site dedicated to a 'fanon' couple as opposed to 'canon' because I personally loved slash and I wanted to emphasize that as most slash-dom sites seemed to fall into oblivion when it came to the Harry Potter fandom. What could I say, I was a fan at heart and I'm still very proud of it.

In the end I chose a couple that I had always loved and, surprisingly, had recently became popular with the premiere of the fourth movie. I had recommended a few Harry/Cedric pairings back when the 4th book was still the current book out, but they all pretty much ended up the same. Harry and Cedric get together, Cedric dies, yadda yadda yadda . . . all the same. But after the movie, writers started getting more aggressive, creative, and more imaginative and that's when I decided to dedicate my first fansite to them. It was a lot more versatile than I had originally thought and all the new fanfiction really made me love the pairing again.

The name 'Bittersweet Symphony' fits their situation I think. Their time spent is bittersweet because it can't last forever, but also neither of them regret it. It's a song that must come to an end no matter how beautiful it is.
